Like so many others in the online and entrepreneurial worlds, I’m a dreamer and a storyteller. You’ll find a summary of my endeavors below. Keep reading for the full story!
I have been working as a blogger, photographer and freelance writer for the last ten years. My writing has appeared in the OC Register, Orange Coast Magazine, OCFamily, OCParenting, Huffington Post, Babble and beyond. My award winning blogs include the family lifestyle/travel site Momfluential and Supernatural Travel.
I’ve been working in the world of advertising and marketing since I was a teenager. My father was an IRL “Madman” and some of my earliest memories of his office were a lot like the tv show. I started working at his agency, writing direct marketing and advertising copy when I was 16.
After college I began freelance and consulting work, and later applied this experience to my own businesses. I was a social media marketing early adopter, and saw the need for better tracking and analytics while reporting on my own and my client’s campaigns.
As a female entrepreneur and tech CEO, I do a fair amount of traveling and speaking. Past engagements include TBEX, Women in Travel, Blog Her, Social Media Summit Europe, Mom 2.0, Affiliate Summit, P.R.S.A., S.A.T.W., Blog World Expo, ConnectHer, GenZ Social Summit, and Type A Summit.
My Story: I’m really creative, but that doesn’t always mean things come easy!
Creativity was a true gift in my early career. As a marketing professional I was in demand, always coming up with original ideas that drove engagement, awareness and sales. My campaigns delivered.
And yet… When it came time to demonstrate ROI, and particularly to demonstrate results for online marketing, I panicked. I wanted to poke my eyes out and hide in the bathroom.
Navigating ridiculously complicated and expensive analytics dashboards sent me into a flop sweat. My degree from Johns Hopkins did nothing to protect me from this feeling of inadequacy.
On report days, I experienced imposter syndrome. Even when clients were thrilled with their results.
It wasn’t just me, I discovered. This lack of understanding was one of the biggest sticking points for many brands, marketers and influencers, leading to an atmosphere of widespread distrust.
I partnered to create Hashtracking because I needed a way to make it more simple for myself, my clients and thousands of customers to confidently track and report on their campaigns. Five years later, Hashtracking has serviced tens of thousands of customers, reporting on hundreds of thousands of hashtags and campaigns on both Twitter and Instagram.
I’m proud of the fact that Hashtracking’s reporting has fostered relationships between brands and influencers worldwide.
We’ve played a part in thousands of successful campaigns!
I couldn’t stop there. Social media is growing by leaps and bounds. Customers and colleagues often come to me for advice as they struggle to keep up. Attempting to hand curate and sift thru data on platforms with millions of posts a day, is a losing battle.
Watching them do hours and hours of tedious research by hand, I realized there had to be a way to help.
This past year, I joined forces with an artificial intelligence expert to design and build Vitamin H by Juiced Social. The first in a suite of tools designed to support both brands and influencers, Vitamin H curates lists of highly engaged hashtags around 2000+ topic areas. The library refreshes every two weeks. Engaged hashtags increase account visibility and promote engagement and overall authority.
The right tools and expertise can free your valuable time, ignite your creativity, and allow your business to soar.
Entrepreneurship has made it possible for me to travel the world and meet phenomenal people. It has given me the space to pursue other ventures, including photography and blogging, which remains a beloved “side hustle.”
